Well, today I received a BLOG AWARD!!! from one of my friends and fellow-bloggers, Lynn at ThatLynnGirl.
The Blog Award is fantastic, but comes with an obligation to pass it along. To prevent wicked bad luck or some ungodly misfortune heretofore unknown to humankind, the recipient of the BLOG AWARD!!! must:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award. This seems to be socially mandated even if it were not locked into doomsday prevention. CHECK!
2. Share 7 things about yourself on your blog. Since I’m just starting out, seven new tidbits is certainly not a problem!
3. Pass the award along to 10 other versatile bloggers deserving the award, and let them know they’ve been selected! Well, of course you should let them know. The real difficulty here is that I don’t yet have relationships with ten other bloggers just yet. I’m just getting started! But, I’m sure we can make this happen over the next few weeks.
First things first, seven facts about me:
One. Sometimes I wish I had gotten my masters in Organizational Leadership and was working as a consultant for nonprofits, start-ups, and student groups instead of going to law school.
Two. I really like solving problems and giving people advice.
Three. I seriously hate the texture of oatmeal but my husband loves it, so I try to force it down since it’s so good for me.
Four. I only enjoy the original flavor of SunChips. And by enjoy, I mean I could eat them nonstop for the rest of my life and never get tired. But I would get thirsty. Because they make me thirsty.
Five. I”m a HUGE fan of that part of Fried Green Tomatoes where Kathy Bates runs her car into the little red convertible. It’s probably my favorite movie moment of all time.
The best part, though, is when her husband says:
WHAT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND IS... HOW IN THE HELL YOU CAN HIT SOMEONE... SIX TIMES BY ACCIDENT.
ahaha I love it. Oh wait, got distracted.
Six. I make a mean chicken pot pie.
Seven. I always made fun of my super conservative Christian college while I was there, but honestly, some days I totally miss the happiness that was so pervasive there. I miss sharing joyful moments with other happy, excited people. But while I miss it, I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the place where I am supposed to be at this moment. And that is reassuring and wonderful.
Now, this is the part where I’m supposed to name ten blogging award winners, but I honestly don’t have ten awards to give out yet! I’m going to hold off on this part of the game, wait a few weeks, and then finalize the list. I’m so new to blogging that I don’t yet have a network of supporters. SO, two weeks from tonight, I’ll be posting award winners! If you think we might have common interests, or you want to win an award, leave a comment or send a message so I can check out your blog!
